FAQs

APPOINTMENTS + AVAILABILITY

I’m currently accepting new clients for both in person and phone/video sessions throughout California.  Typically, I meet with clients for a 50-mintue session on a weekly basis. My office is located at 810 College Avenue, Suite 1A in the town of Kentfield. It is on the first floor of a small office building and the adjoined parking lot offers free and easily accessible parking for clients. During our initial phone consultation and first session we will explore desired areas of change, work collaboratively to establish goals and outline our path forward.

FEES + INSURANCE

My rates are competitive, and within customary range for mental health care services in the Bay Area. I am classified as an out-of-network provider. Many health insurance plans will reimburse for psychotherapy from out-of-network therapists. I can provide clients with a monthly invoice / Superbill statement to submit to your insurance company for personal reimbursement.

To support equitable access to therapy I reserve a select amount of sliding scale spaces in my practice for those who cannot afford my full fee. Please reach out to discuss currently availability.

LICENSE + CONFIDENTIALITY

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFTs) are licensed mental health professionals who work with individuals; couples whether or not married; and families of all types to cure or relieve mental, emotional, and relational concerns of all kinds. LMFTs have minimally acquired a Master’s degree, 3,000 hours of supervised experience, and have passed two rigorous exams.

In general, everything discussed between client and therapist is protected by law as confidential. However, as a mandated reporter there are some specific scenarios where a therapist is mandated by law to break that confidentiality. Details and limitations of confidentiality will be discussed with clients and are listed in intake documents for reference. I believe the confidentiality of the therapeutic framework allows for the trust and openness necessary to create lasting change.

DURATION OF TREATMENT + GOOD FAITH ESTIMATE

There is no set length of time for therapy. I work with clients in both short and long term capacities as we work towards your goals. My goal is to be of service to my clients for as long as needed, with the understanding that the ultimate goal of therapy is for the client to no longer need therapy.

As a client, you have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services. You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. Please don't hesitate to ask more about this during our work together.
